Brooklyn based PURPOSE MUSIC GROUP has inked a digital distribution and marketing deal withSan Francisco based INGROOVES.

INGROOVES will provide customized marketing, promotion, sync licensing and administrative support to help maximize the digital earning potential for upcoming Purpose releases, and eventually the entire Purpose catalog.

The PURPOSE MUSIC GROUP, a music based content company, is considered one of the leaders in the new world soul movement. PURPOSE is involved in artist management, retail and lifestyle marketing, promotion, domestic and international music licensing, and branding.

The first Purpose release to benefit from this agreement, is the recently released, critically acclaimed; ANGELA JOHNSON presents "A WOMAN'S TOUCH VOL. 1."

"A Woman's Touch" showcases Angela's producer, arranger and song writing skills. The CD features her collaborations with CLAUDE MCKNIGHT (Take 6), MAYSA LEAK (Incognito), RAHSAAN PATTERSON, ERIC ROBERSON, FRANK MCCOMB, GORDON CHAMBERS, JULIE DEXTER, MONÉT, MARLON SAUNDERS and newcomers LISALA, TRICIA ANGUS, LENORA JAYE and ERNESTO ABREU.

The CD also features notable contributions from the CHOPS HORNS (Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Sugarhill), JAMES COLLINS (Fertile Ground), JACQUES SCHWARTZ-BART, JONATHAN MARON (Groove Collective), TREVOR HOLDER, SHELTON GARNER, CALVIN JONES, JUSTIN WALLACE, PAULINE KIM, CHRISTINE KIM and MATT SCHULMAN.

Angela's collaboration with ERIC ROBERSON, "LET ME KNOW" (currently a top 10 song at URBAN-AC's WHUR-FM in WASHINGTON DC) will be the first digital single release, followed by "WALKIN" featuring LISALA.


The PURPOSE MUSIC GROUP artist roster includes, singer/songwriter/actress & flautist MONÉT, who is currently completing her upcoming sophomore release entitled "AWAKENING," world soul artist MAYA AZUCENA, who besides having one of 2007's best releases in "JUNKYARD JEWEL," also received a GRAMMY for her duet with STEPHEN MARLEY on his "MIND CONTROL" project, the before mentioned singer/songwriter/producer ANGELA JOHNSON, and one of the top dj/producer/remixers in the world, DJ SPINNA.

Purpose also represents the international interest of GRAMMY award winning singer/songwriter/producer GORDON CHAMBERS and one of the most exciting bands in the world TORTURED SOUL .

Within the next 12 months, The PURPOSE MUSIC GROUP will be releasing new projects by MAYA AZUCENA, MONÉT and TRICIA ANGUS.

DJ SPINNA will also be releasing his future projects through his own WONDERWAX label deal with INGROOVES.
